Our Story

The Little Corner of Paradise

Far from the city and her vicissitudes, far from pollution and agitation, authentic little corners of paradise still exist.

Once upon a time, in the regional park of "Haut Languedoc", Mémé Renée and Pépé Gaston, used to live in happiness in their small schist roof house, built on the hillside, on hard-made sunny terraces. In this place, had been already living - people say- hundreds of years before, a solitary monk who choose this idyllic and strategic place for his spiritual retreat.

They farmed their land with passion and simplicity, respecting their environment, and using water sparingly, already scarce ressource at that time.

Luckily, they have a source on a lower terrace, which permitted to Pépé Gaston having a full garden all year long, watering his roses and vines, and enjoying planting bay tree of which he appreciated flavour.

Mémé Renée, gathered rosemary, thyme, origano, mint and melissa, to prepare her herbal teas, her secret treatments and her aromatic salts.

The sounds of birds and cicadas, bees and church bells, over there near the village, Happiness wasn't in the field but in garrigue.

Then one day everything stop. All remain dormant more than a century. Brambles, Ivy and Weeds, finally retook place over theses lands, and everything they worked for was gone.

Until this Spring morning, in May 2008, when we were ecstatic in front of this small and peacefull paradise, we decided may be from folly, but mainly by idealism, by respect and memory of this not so distant past, to take the torch and go to the next step of this adventure.
